Southern Delights Poultry is pleased to be working with the following large fowl breeds:
Buff Leghorns -
Rare and beautiful poultry with excellent egg laying abilities. The breed is well known for their ability to hold down the cost of egg production thru their superb feed to egg conversion rate. This breed rarely goes broody.
Delawares -
A heritage, dual purpose breed that is known for their prolific laying of large brown eggs and their very fine meat. Delawares are an excellent choice for the backyard chicken person due to their super docile nature. This breed rarely goes broody.
Marans -
A rare breed that is large and friendly. Also a dual purpose breed known for their white-skinned, very good meat, and for their dark egg laying abilities. My line has about a 20% broody rate.
Speckled Sussex -
A picture is worth a thousand words. A multi-colored bird that wins your heart with their speckles and personalities.
